The Definition of Social Selling [In Under 100 Words]

Social selling   isn't just a buzzword -- it's become a crucial way for successful sales teams to communicate with their prospects. Social selling Social selling is when salespeople use social media to interact directly with their prospects. Salespeople will provide value by answering prospect questions and offering thoughtful content until the prospect is ready to buy. Thus, the use of social media in sales allows salespeople to delight their prospects rather than interrupt their daily lives with cold calls and hard sells, eventually converting them into loyal customers.

Why Your Marketing Needs More Social Proof—and How to Develop the Advocates Who Create It in HubSpot

Filbert is dying and I don’t know what to do about it. Filbert is a plant, one that I’ve had for a few months now. He’s a tall and beautiful fiddle leaf fig (Ficus lyrata), with big deep green leaves that kind of look like an elephant's ear. Except for the new leaves on my plant are starting to turn brown and wither. It’s troubling. Who can help with this I think? Surely the internet will know. So I Google it, and sure enough, I’m not the first plant dad to fail his fiddle leaf so spectacularly. Not by a long shot, it turns out. I find literally hundreds of blog posts, videos, and how-to guides to help me take care of this trendy house plant. At first, I’m ecstatic and think I’ll find what I’m looking for, but pretty quickly I start to lose hope. I have all the information I could possibly ask for about this plant, but is any of this content trustworthy? I’m not just looking for generic advice, I’m looking for unfiltered feedback from someone who has mastered caring for this fini

Social Media Marketing: The Ultimate Guide

As I scroll through my Instagram feed every day (cough, cough...multiple times a day), I consistently notice new posts and stories by   The Frye Company . I’ve always been a fan of their boots, clothing, and accessories, but I also love the content they share on their Instagram profile. Their posts are on-brand, creative, and aesthetically pleasing. All of their photos have the same filter on them to ensure they match — this makes their Instagram profile look professional, artistic, and organized when visitors, like myself, browse their page. Frye’s Instagram account also encourages interaction between the company and their followers by providing them with a specific hashtag to use so they can be featured on the account when they post a photo with a Frye product. Frye’s Instagram account is a great example of successful social media marketing — it’s attractive, distinctly Frye, engages their 197K followers, and promotes their products. But why is social media marketing so important?

21 Ways To Build Your Social Media Presence, Like HubSpot Marketers

I was a lazy natural for most of my life. I had natural hair but I never took care of it in the way I should have. I slicked it back in tight – albeit very cute – top buns, laid down my edges and kept it moving. Then, I discovered a natural hair stylist on Instagram who changed my outlook. She was active on the platform every day, often giving hair care advice, and spoke directly to my concerns. Within a few weeks, I was sold and ready to book an appointment. → Free Download: Social Media Calendar Template [Access Now] Not every social media interaction is like that, but it's what every brand wants. Why You Need Social Media Followers Who Won't Ever Buy

Which is better?   50 qualified social media followers , or   1,000 followers, many of whom will never buy from you ? The answer may surprise you. In social media, reach is of critical importance. It directly impacts how much your content and messages get shared, it increases your business' ability to get found and generate leads, it can help extend your online footprint as a thought leader, and the list goes on. In other words, in an online world, social reach shouldn't be a trivial factor for businesses leveraging inbound marketing. So, have you figured out what the right answer to our first question is yet? If the title of this article wasn't enough of a hint, yes, more followers is always better. New Social Media Platforms Marketers Should Watch

TikTok Clubhouse Twitter Spaces Caffeine Instagram Reels Houseparty 1. TikTok Year Launched:  2017 (Founded in 2016) Number of Users:  1 billion monthly active users In 2018, the lip-syncing app, Musical.ly merged with a similar one-year-old app called TikTok. But, like Musical.ly or Snapchat, you can add fun effects, AR filters, text, and musical overlays to zest things up. Like similar video platforms, it has been primarily adopted by users under 30 years old. Once you make a video, the app also allows you to optimize it by adding hashtags that can make it easier to find via search. One way

Social Commerce: What It Is & How to Use It in 2020

Recently, I set an iPhone time limit on my social media use to "45 minutes". I figured 45 minutes would be  more  than enough. Almost an hour? In between working at HubSpot, catching up with friends, and attending exercise classes, I had no doubt 45 minutes would be plenty of social media consumption. Unfortunately, I learned pretty quickly that I actually spend 45 minutes on social media before I even get to work in the morning. I know I'm not alone. In fact, the average daily social media use of internet users worldwide amounts to 136 minutes per day. With all that social media consumption, it makes sense that more businesses are turning to social media to market to their audiences. But  marketing  is just one aspect of the buyer's journey -- what about sales? Can that be done within social media platforms, as well? While still in the early stages, it's now entirely possible for businesses to sell products and services natively within social media sites. Here,

The Ultimate Guide to Social Testing

As marketers, we know the importance of making data-driven decisions. The more data we know about our audience — from how many are being reached to how many engage with our content — the more we're able to make effective marketing moves. Having the numbers to back up marketing strategy is almost as important as the strategy itself. If numbers aren't your favorite thing to calculate, that's not a problem (thankfully). There are so many strategies and automation tools to back up those tough marketing choices effectively — no math needed. For instance, let's say you're running a social media campaign, and one of your Facebook posts includes a video. You've never run a video ad, so you need data to prove it's the right move for engaging audiences. To get that data, you decide to run a social test for engagement. In your test, one Facebook ad will show a short cut of the video and the other, a longer cut. If one of the videos reaches 50% of your benchmark engag

How to Find the Best Time for YOU to Publish Social Content [HubSpot Hack]

Optimize Your Company's Social Publishing Timing As you probably know, HubSpot's social media publishing tool already gives you suggested publishing times based on our research. That's not a bad start, but the truth is your optimal publishing times are going to largely depend on the characteristics of  your  specific audience. To figure out what publishing times really work best for you, take the following steps.  Step One:  In Social Media Publishing, export a list of your past social shares. The "Export all" button is in the top left-hand corner of your Social Publishing tool. Once you click it, an excel download will start.  Step Two:  In Excel, sort that spreadsheet by channel and number of clicks. Make sure you sort by  descending  value.  When you're done, your  social posts will be in order of most to least clicked from top to bottom. Step Three:  Look for timing trends. Look at the publish times for the posts with the highest number of clicks to see
